Sample: To the right is an example of a die analysis. Our client sent us a suspicious “Maxim” part, which also failed SolTec’s visual inspection & was suspected of black-topping. Our decap has confirmed that the part is actually manufactured by “IR.” Another potential disaster averted & another very happy client.
We perform basic electrical testing to confirm that random or full sampling of parts in a lot are functioning with the same electrical outputs, pin by pin. Combined with decapsulation, this is a highly effective method of detecting sub-par components.
Sample: Below, this client sent some parts they procured from another distributor & were suspicious of. Upon analysis, we did confirm that they had sub-standard parts mixed in with good parts. Our testing services kept the bad parts off their boards!

We use stereoscopic imaging to make sure that no flaw goes undetected. This combined with chemical permanency surface testing helps detect non-conformances with the part. If anything suspicious is observed, they then undergo more advanced testing including decap & curve trace.
Left: This part looked ok to the naked eye. Right: A microscopic view shows evidence of this part being previously soldered or reworked. Another part caught and prevented from being a potential problem for our customer.
